Team TrueTandem, which includes TrueTandem as the Prime Contractor and Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS) as the Sub Contractor, is proud to announce that we have been awarded the “CDC Excellence in Information Technology” award for our work supporting the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on their SATRN project, leveraging Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft Office 365, and Microsoft Teams.
The CDC’s Federal Select Agent Program (FSAP) works with laboratories and institutions to enforce select agent regulations, maintaining a national database of possession, inspecting entities that possess, use, or transfer these agents undergo a security risk assessment performed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The program greatly enhances the nation’s oversight of the safety and security of agents, such as anthrax, smallpox, and the bubonic plague. Team TrueTandem transformed an unclear, slow, and user hostile system in to one that has reduced the risk to the United States to exposure to dangerous select agents and toxins. Team TrueTandem (also referred to as the Microsoft SATRN team) won CDC’s 2019 Excellence in Information Technology Award.
