U.S. National Central Bureau of Interpol

Period of Performance: March - May 2005

Client: U.S. National Central Bureau of Interpol (USNCB)
Service: .Net Application Development
Solution: SharePoint Integration

Client Overview and Challenge

Interpol’s Stolen Works of Art system tracks criminal cases and documents related to art theft. The system was originally built with Microsoft Active Server Pages (ASPs) and Microsoft Site Server for the search engine. To conform to new international standards around tracking and reporting, Interpol was faced with rebuilding the system from the ground up.

Approach and Solution

TrueTandem designed and delivered an extensible solution which included a new interface, an enhanced data model and a series of .NET components, all deployed within the existing ASP environment. InScope also replaced the outdated MS Site Server with the SharePoint Portal Server 2003 Search Engine and an Xml-based configuration customization framework.

Benefits

This approach leveraged the existing application code, significantly improved search performance and extensibility, required virtually no down-time, and provided immediate ROI.

Technologies Applied

  • Microsoft Windows 2003 Server
  • ASP.NET; C#, Web Services
  • SQL Server 2000
  • SharePoint Services
